Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
 Being resident at the undergraduate student residences.  Supervision and coordination of provision of basic facilities for students - physical infrastructure, food and nutrition, health and fitness, and safety  Emergency response  Good supervision and interpersonal skills  Coordination & ensure good food facility in the mess  Engaging proactively with the student community and creating a variety of structured and unstructured opportunities for student learning and growth  Maintenance of record of movement of students  Stores management of various Items like Stationary, Pantry requirements, Electrical stores and spares, Guest requirements  Looking after the House Keeping supervision in different areas  Responsible for facilities enhancement & maintenance of furniture, rooms etc  Maintaining discipline in hostel

Qualification and Experience:

 Graduation – Any Specialization

 5 – 10 years’ experience in working as a hostel warden

Skills and Attributes:
Suitable candidates for this position will have experience and/or demonstrate keen interest in:  Candidates with experience of living with and/or actively engaging with young adults.  Communication and team work with diverse groups of individuals  Coordinating / managing student hostels for 17-22 year-olds  Should be effective in oral and written communication skills  Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering team work and a collaborative work culture

Our NGO is a not-for-profit organization that is working towards making deep, large scale and institutionalized impact on the quality and equity of education in India, along with related development areas. We believe that any large-scale educational change requires significant and sustained effort over decades and can be achieved through working at multiple levels with a multi-pronged approach. Today, we work in 7 states and 1 Union Territory with a potential to reach over 3, 50,000 schools. Key aspects of our work include:

 

Partnering with Government: We work in collaboration with state governments and engage with teachers, teacher educators, head teachers at the block and cluster level and with education officials, senior government functionaries and policy makers at the district, state and national levels.

State and District Institutes: We have State Institutes in the capitals of select Indian States and several District Institutes within these states, each having dedicated teams. The work of the State and District Institute is institutional in nature, recognizing that long term and consistent engagement is necessary for educational change.

Our Institutes work at the grass-root level, closely engaging with the government education system. The range of work we do spans capacity building of teachers, head teachers and other functionaries at the district level and state level. It also involves work on curriculum, assessment, educational leadership and management, policy issues and advocacy at the state level.

The Foundation today, has institutes that are located at Karnataka (Bengaluru, Yadgir, Mandya and Gulbarga), Rajasthan (Jaipur, Sirohi, Tonk, Barmer and Rajsamand), Uttarakhand (Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Udham Singh Nagar and Almora), Bihar (Patna), Chhattisgarh (Raipur and Dhamtari), Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal) and Puducherry.

At six of our District Institutes, we have the Foundation schools that have been established for the specific purpose of demonstration. These schools provide quality and free education to the local community, at costs and constraints similar to that of rural government schools.
